Personal Uses:                              

  1. Abrasions and Minor Cuts: Clean area well! Apply tea tree oil full strength to area. 
  1. Acne: Add 3 drops of tea tree oil directly onto infected area twice a day or 20 drops of tea tree oil into facial wash, apply twice daily.
  1. After Shaving or Waxing: Add 3 drops of tea tree oil onto razor blade before shaving.  Add 3 drops of tea tree oil to 1 tbs of aloe vera gel.  Smooth over area.
  1. Arthritis: For swelling add 6 drops of tea tree oil to 2 ounces of jojoba or grapeseed oil, massage into affected area 2-3 times a day.  Tea tree oil is very good for arthritis as it is able to penetrate and desensitise irritated nerve endings.
  1. Asthma: Add 8 drops of tea tree oil to a warm damp face cloth and breath through it for 1 minute.  For best results repeat daily.
  1. Athletes Foot: Clean feet thoroughly, especially between toes.  Add tea tree oil directly to feet every two weeks.  Or add 5 drops of tea tree oil to half an ounce of olive oil.  Massage on feet and between toes. 
  1. Bad Breath: (Sore gums and plaque).  Add 5 drops of tea tree oil on brush and brush with baking soda.  DO NOT SWALLOW.
  1. Bath Salts: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to half a cup bath salt and then apply to water.
  1. Blisters: Wash area with soap and water.  Apply 3 drops of tea tree oil 2 times daily.
  1. Boils and Inflammations: Apply a warm wash cloth to the area for a few minutes.  Apply undiluted tea tree oil directly on the boil.  WARNING: If fever is present consult a physician immediately.
  1. Bronchitis/Bronchial Congestion: Add 8 drops of tea tree oil to a warm, damp cloth, apply to chest or add 20 drops of tea tree oil to a hot bath and soak.  Add 5 drops of tea tree oil to cream or oil and massage infected area.
  1. Bruises: Apply ice if swelling occurs, add 5 drops of tea tree oil to an arnica or comfrey salve.  Apply daily.
  1. Burns (Minor): Immediately wash area with iced water, apply 5 drops of tea tree oil to burned area.  Repeat 3-4 times daily.
  1. Calluses and Corns: Add 4 drops of tea tree oil to 1 teaspoon grapeseed, apricot, olive, almond or avocado oil.  Massage area well or soak in mixture of 6 drops of tea tree oil, half an ounce rapeseed, apricot, olive, almond or avocado oil for 5 minutes, 2 times daily.  Once the corn or calluses have become soft remove with tweezers and apply a few drops of tea tree oil, then cover and bandage.
  1. Mouth Ulcers: Add a few drops of tea tree oil directly to infected area with a cotton swab twice daily.  Add 5 drops to 1 cup of water, swish around in mouth.  CAUTION: DO NOT SWALLOW.
  1. Carbuncles: Add 3 drops of tea tree oil to lip balm or moisturising cream.  Apply to lips as necessary.
  1. Cold Sores (Herpes Simplex 1): Tea tree oil can reduce the painful healing time by as much as one half.  Apply a few drops of tea tree oil directly to the infected area with cotton swab 2 times a day to help prevent breakouts.  Apply directly upon onset.
  1. Coughs: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to 4-6 cups warm water.  Drape towel over head and lean over warm water for 10 minutes, “gently inhale”.  Add 20 drops tea tree oil to vaporiser, steam for 5-10 minutes.
  1. Dandruff: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to any shampoo; use daily or alternate with another shampoo.  Rub a few drops of tea tree oil directly into the scalp or use 3 drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo in hand prior to washing hair.  This will unblock the hair follicles.
  1. Dermatitis: Add 5 drops of tea tree oil to a quarter cup grapeseed oil and massage in areas that have been exposed.  Repeat 2-3 times daily.
  1. Dry Hair, Oily Hair and Itchy Scalp: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil directly onto hair strands; massage into scalp.
  1. Dry Skin: Add 5 drops of tea tree oil to 1 ounce carrot seed or sweet almond oil.  Massage into skin.
  1. Earaches: Add 5 drops of tea tree oil to quarter cup of warm olive oil.  Drop a small amount gently into ear, tilting head to one side for a minute.  Use small cotton ball to absorb oil.  Repeat until improved.
  1. Ear Infection: Add 5 drops tea tree oil to quarter cup warm olive or almond oil, drop a small amount gently into ear.
  1. Eczema: Add 6 drops tea tree oil to quarter cup of grapeseed oil, massage in areas that have been exposed.  Repeat 2-3 times daily.
  1. Flea Bites: To disinfect bite add 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil directly to area of bite.  Repeat every 2 hours or until swelling and itching has disappeared. 
  1. Gout: For swelling, add 8 drops of tea tree oil to 2 ounces of jojoba or grapeseed oil; massage into affected area 2-3 times a day.
  1. Head Cold: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to 4 cups water, drape towel over pot of warm solution and inhale.  At night add 5 drops of tea tree oil to a vaporiser.  Also rub on nose and forehead areas.
  1. Head Lice: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to 1 ounce shampoo.  Massage into hair, leave on for 10 minutes, rinse; repeat once a day until eggs and lice are gone.
  1. Hair Conditioner: Add 6 drops tea tree oil to 1 tbs. Olive oil, then add one whipped egg.  Apply conditioner for 5-10 minutes, rinse.
  1. Hair Rinse: Add 15 drops of tea tree oil to 32 ounces of water.

Warning: Different skin types can react in various ways to natural ingredients such as tea tree oil so it is important to patch-test first.  Undiluted tea tree oil can be received harshly by some skin types.

Tea Tree Oil is not to be taken internally except as a mouthwash or gargle, as directed, but do not swallow.

Household Uses:                           

  1. All Purpose Cleaner: Add 5 drops of tea tree oil to 2 tbs of vinegar with 1 tsp of borax.  Put solution in a 12 ounce spray bottle, then fill bottle with warm distilled or purified water.  Shake until borax dissolves.
  1. Bedsores: For a bedridden person, add 5 drops of tea tree oil to 1 tbs of almond or olive oil and massage in affected parts of the body.
  1. Deodoriser: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to spray bottle.  Mist room.
  1. Dishwashers: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to dishwasher dispenser, then fill with dishwashing soap.
  1. Humidifier: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to the humidifier.  This will clean, disinfect and refresh the air.
  1. Mood & Memory: Add 3 drops of tea tree oil directly to skin and massage in to face and temples.  If you are allergic perform patch test for allergies first.
  1. Plant Spray: Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to a 32 ounce bottle of water, then add 16 drops of hydrogen peroxide.  Mix well and mist plant with spray bottle.
  1. Vaporiser: Add 8 drops of tea tree oil to a cup of water, leave in room to help alleviate stuffiness, allergies, headaches and flu symptoms, or heat a pot of water and drop 3-5 drops of tea tree oil after removing pot from burner.
  1. Washing Machine: To kill germs, add 10 drops of tea tree oil to each load of laundry.  This will disinfect and leave laundry smelling clean and fresh.
